The time has come for me to move on and the city of Berlin provides a refreshing combination of Inspiration and challenge.
At the moment I am on a short trip to Stuttgart, a city in southern Germany, the idea is not only to get immersed in its greatness but to be part of the FMX 2009, link below.

To make this post a bit more visual I am adding one of the paintings I did before I left Honduras. Its all digital painting but with a special printer I got it stamped on a canvas and sold three of them. So… digital paintings of outdoor subjects, a technique ideal for those of us who love photoshop but would still like to get some sunlight.
To see the result, visit the Photoshop section it the gallery, or click here to see it.

Client: Sukutu
Period: Feb-Mar 2009
Sukutu is a new company entering the online ticket-selling business. They came to me requesting a Corporate Identity much bolder than anything I’ve ever worked on. It was a lot of fun to do, since I took the project from scratch and had a lot of creative freedom to develop this style. And I finally got to work on a cartoony logo, which is very freshening.
They will be launching all of this, along with their opening campaign in a couple of months, but you my readers get a first glimpse right here. Take a look, and let me know!

The logo is based on that japanese proverb of the Three Wise Monkeys, I reverted the way they used their hands to enhance their senses. Here we have some wallpapers, stationary, web layout and t-shirts:

Corporate images is one of my favorite subjects in this industry, I get inspired by some cool commercials and logos I see around. I am currently working for a company called Carossi, a national distributor for car lubricants and filters. They wanted a fresh image after more than 2 decades with the same logo. The challenge was to create a logo showing the shape of a drop of oil. I presented 9 different designs and I’m very happy with the option they chose. What do you think?

Here’s how I applied the logo and created some of their new corporate image:

Oh, for the record here’s their old logo, which I did not design.

Stu is a character I started drawing in 2005, he’s a window cleaner with a belt full of tools and a laid-back attitude. I had to redesign him a bit for his 3d version. Here are some orthographic views of the head and body:

Here’s what I use for my front view in maya:
I started modeling him in polys and I am almost done with his body and hair. My buddy Danny Cawthon will be rigging him. Check out his demo reel here. I will be posting updates regularly and before you know it Stu will be cleaning every window around.
